Yemeni rial (YER)

Currency

The Yemeni rial, symbolized by ﷼ and coded as YER, is the official monetary unit of Yemen. Issued by the Central Bank of Yemen, the modern rial was introduced in 1990 following the unification of North and South Yemen, replacing the North Yemeni rial and the South Yemeni dinar. Officially subdivided into 100 fils, subunit coins are no longer in active circulation due to severe economic inflation.
