Fijian dollar (FJD)

The Fijian dollar (FJD, symbol $) is the official currency of Fiji, issued by the Reserve Bank of Fiji. Introduced in 1969, it replaced the Fijian pound at a rate of two dollars to one pound. Subdivided into 100 cents, the Fijian dollar historically featured British monarch portraiture until a comprehensive redesign in 2012 replaced royalty imagery with iconic native flora and fauna representative of the island nation's rich biodiversity.
