Danish krone (DKK)

Currency

The Danish krone (DKK, symbol kr) is the official currency of Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands, managed by the Danmarks Nationalbank. Introduced in 1875 as part of the Scandinavian Monetary Union, it replaced the rigsdaler at a rate of two kroner per rigsdaler. The krone is subdivided into 100 øre and is pegged to the euro within a narrow band under the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II).
