Macedonian denar (MKD)

The Macedonian denar (symbol: ден, ISO code: MKD) is the official currency of North Macedonia, issued by the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia. Introduced in April 1992 to replace the Yugoslav dinar at par, a second denar was introduced in May 1993 at a rate of 1 new denar to 100 old denars. The currency is subdivided into 100 deni, though deni coins were withdrawn from active circulation in 2013.
