Tajikistani somoni (TJS)

The Tajikistani somoni (ISO code: TJS) is the legal tender of Tajikistan, introduced in October 2000 to replace the Tajikistani rouble at a conversion rate of 1 somoni to 1,000 roubles. Named after Ismoil Somoni, the historical founder of the Samanid dynasty, it is divided into 100 dirhams. Issued by the National Bank of Tajikistan, the somoni is maintained under a managed floating regime to support domestic financial liquidity.
