Guinean franc (GNF)

Currency

The Guinean franc, identified by the ISO 4217 code GNF, is the official currency of the Republic of Guinea. First introduced in 1959 to replace the CFA franc after independence, it was temporarily replaced by the syli between 1971 and 1985 before being restored. Issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea, the franc is technically divided into 100 centimes, though sub-units are not used in practice.
