Cambodian riel (KHR)

Currency

The Cambodian riel (symbol: ៛, ISO code: KHR) is the official currency of Cambodia, managed by the National Bank of Cambodia. First issued between 1953 and 1975, the currency was abolished during the Khmer Rouge regime before being re-established in March 1980 at a rate of four riels per US dollar. In modern domestic commerce, the riel circulates alongside the US dollar, which is widely accepted for everyday business.
