Solomon Islands dollar (SBD)

The Solomon Islands dollar (symbol: $, code: SBD) is the official currency of the Solomon Islands, subdivided into 100 cents. Managed by the Central Bank of Solomon Islands, it was introduced in 1977 to replace the Australian dollar at par following independence. While originally pegged to the Australian dollar, the Solomon Islands dollar is currently pegged to a customized basket of international currencies to maintain economic stability.
