Armenian dram (AMD)

The Armenian dram, denoted by the symbol ֏ and coded as AMD, serves as the official national currency of Armenia. Introduced in November 1993 by the Central Bank of Armenia, it replaced the Soviet ruble at a rate of 200 rubles per dram shortly after the country gained independence. The dram is subdivided into 100 luma, though luma coins are rarely used due to nominal devaluation over time.
