Samoan tala (WST)

The Samoan tala, designated by the ISO code WST and symbol WS$, serves as the monetary unit of Samoa. Established in 1967, it replaced the Samoan pound at a rate of two tala per pound under the direction of the Central Bank of Samoa. The tala is divided into 100 sene and is managed through a currency basket reflecting the country's principal international trading partners.
