Iraqi dinar (IQD)

Currency

The Iraqi dinar, designated by the ISO 4217 code IQD, is the official currency of Iraq. Introduced in 1932 to replace the Indian rupee following British mandate control, it was historically pegged to the British pound and later the US dollar. Issued by the Central Bank of Iraq, the dinar is divided into 1,000 fils, though sub-units have ceased circulation due to inflation, leaving the dinar as the standard exchange unit.
