Afghan afghani (AFN)

The Afghan afghani, denoted by the symbol ؋ and coded as AFN under ISO 4217, is the official currency of Afghanistan. It is subdivided into 100 pul, though coins for pul are no longer in active circulation. The current afghani was introduced in 2002 to replace the original afghani (AFA) at a rate of 1 new afghani to 1,000 old afghanis following major monetary reform to stabilize hyperinflation.
