Swazi lilangeni (SZL)

The Swazi lilangeni (ISO code: SZL, plural: emalangeni) is the official currency of Eswatini, issued by the Central Bank of Eswatini. Introduced in 1974 to celebrate national sovereignty, it is pegged at par (1:1) with the South African rand under the Common Monetary Area agreement. Subdivided into 100 cents, both the lilangeni and the South African rand circulate as accepted legal tender within the kingdom.
