Bahamian dollar (BSD)

The Bahamian dollar, identified by the code BSD and symbol $, is the legal tender of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Introduced in 1966 by the Central Bank of The Bahamas, it replaced the Bahamian pound at a rate of seven shillings to one dollar, decimalizing the currency. Subdivided into 100 cents, the Bahamian dollar is maintained at a strict 1:1 fixed exchange rate parity with the United States dollar.
