Bolivian boliviano (BOB)

Currency

The Bolivian boliviano, denoted by the symbol Bs. and ISO code BOB, is the official currency of Bolivia. Divided into 100 centavos, it was introduced in 1987 by the Central Bank of Bolivia to replace the hyperinflated peso boliviano at a conversion rate of 1 boliviano to 1,000,000 pesos. The currency's issuance helped stabilize the nation's financial system after severe economic turmoil in the 1980s.
