Barbadian dollar (BBD)

The Barbadian dollar, identified by the ISO code BBD and symbol $, is the official monetary unit of Barbados. Administered by the Central Bank of Barbados, it was created in 1973 to replace the East Caribbean dollar at parity. Subdivided into 100 cents, the Barbadian dollar has been pegged at a fixed exchange rate of two BBD to one United States dollar since 1975 to ensure domestic macroeconomic stability.
