Albanian lek (ALL)

Currency

The Albanian lek, represented by the symbol Lek and coded as ALL in ISO 4217, is the monetary unit of Albania. Subdivided theoretically into 100 qindarka, it was first introduced in 1926 under King Zog I. The currency underwent a major redenomination in 1965, replacing the old lek at a 10 to 1 ratio, establishing the base for the modern currency issued and regulated by the Bank of Albania.
