Seychelles rupee (SCR)

Currency

The Seychelles rupee (symbol: ₨, code: SCR) is the official currency of Seychelles, subdivided into 100 cents. Issued by the Central Bank of Seychelles, the rupee was introduced in 1914 during British colonial rule, replacing the Mauritius rupee which had circulated previously. The Seychelles rupee shifted from a pegged regime to a fully floating exchange rate in 2008 to improve foreign exchange availability and structural economic efficiency.
