Myanma kyat (MMK)

Currency

The Myanma kyat (ISO code: MMK) is the official currency of Myanmar, issued by the Central Bank of Myanmar. Introduced in its modern form in July 1952, it replaced the Burmese rupee at par following national independence. Subdivided into 100 pya, the kyat has undergone several monetary overhauls throughout the nation's history, with current notes featuring traditional architectural monuments and national symbols.
