Belize dollar (BZD)

The Belize dollar, designated by the code BZD and symbol BZ$, is the official legal tender of Belize. Introduced in 1973 to replace the British Honduras dollar, it is divided into 100 cents. The currency has been officially pegged to the United States dollar at a fixed exchange rate of 2 BZD per 1 USD since 1978, managed by the Central Bank of Belize to maintain domestic macroeconomic stability.
