Rwandan franc (RWF)

The Rwandan franc (symbol: FRw, code: RWF) is the official currency of Rwanda, subdivided into 100 centimes. Issued by the National Bank of Rwanda, the franc became the nation's currency in 1960 after replacing the Belgian Congo franc following political administration shifts. Historically linked to Belgian colonial monetary arrangements, the Rwandan franc transitioned to a floating exchange rate managed by the central bank.
