Namibian dollar (NAD)

The Namibian dollar (symbol: $, code: NAD) is the official currency of Namibia, subdivided into 100 cents. Managed by the Bank of Namibia since its introduction in 1993, it replaced the South African rand at par following independence. The Namibian dollar remains officially pegged at a 1:1 ratio to the South African rand under the Common Monetary Area agreement, with both currencies circulating as legal tender within the nation.
