Area (Dimension)

Area is the physical quantity expressing the two-dimensional extent of a surface or the space within a boundary. In the International System of Units (SI), the coherent derived unit of area is the square meter (m²). For practical land measurement, larger units like the hectare and non-metric customary units such as the acre are widely used, while microscopic and atomic cross-sections are often quantified in square micrometers or barns.
