Cayman Islands dollar (KYD)

The Cayman Islands dollar (symbol: $, ISO code: KYD) is the official currency of the Cayman Islands, an Autonomous British Overseas Territory. Introduced in May 1972 to replace the Jamaican dollar, it is administered by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. The currency is legally pegged to the United States dollar at a fixed exchange rate of 1 KYD to 1.20 USD, making it one of the highest-valued currency units in the Caribbean.
