Special Drawing Rights (XDR)

Special Drawing Rights, represented by the code XDR, are supplementary foreign exchange reserve assets defined and maintained by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Created in 1969 to support the Bretton Woods fixed exchange rate system, the value of the XDR is calculated from a weighted basket of major global currencies, including the US dollar, euro, Chinese yuan, Japanese yen, and British pound sterling.
