Singapore dollar (SGD)

Currency

The Singapore dollar (ISO code: SGD, symbol: $) is the official currency of the Republic of Singapore, managed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Introduced in 1967 following the termination of the monetary union with Malaysia and Brunei, it replaced the Malaya and British Borneo dollar. Subdivided into 100 cents, its exchange rate is uniquely managed against an undisclosed trade-weighted basket of currencies within an adjustable band.
