Jordanian dinar (JOD)

The Jordanian dinar (JOD, symbol JD) is the official currency of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, issued by the Central Bank of Jordan. Introduced in 1950 to replace the Palestinian pound at par, the dinar is subdivided into 10 dirhams, 100 piastres, or 1,000 fils. Maintained under a fixed exchange rate regime pegged to the United States dollar since 1995, the Jordanian dinar remains one of the highest-valued currency units in the world.
