Bangladeshi taka (BDT)

The Bangladeshi taka, symbolized by ৳ and designated by the ISO code BDT, is the official national currency of Bangladesh. Issued by Bangladesh Bank, it was introduced in 1972 to replace the Pakistani rupee at a 1 to 1 ratio following the country's independence. The taka is divided into 100 poisha, though fractional units are no longer in common physical circulation due to modern economic changes.
