Angolan kwanza (AOA)

The Angolan kwanza, designated by the code AOA and symbol Kz, is the official currency of Angola. Introduced in 1999, it replaced the kwanza reajustado (AOR) at a 1 to 1,000,000 ratio during a series of monetary reforms aimed at curtailing severe post-independence inflation. Subdivided into 100 cêntimos, the kwanza is issued and administered solely by the National Bank of Angola.
