Algerian dinar (DZD)

The Algerian dinar, identified by the ISO 4217 code DZD and represented by DA, is the official currency of Algeria. Introduced in 1964 to replace the new Algerian franc following national independence, the dinar is issued by the Bank of Algeria. Formally divided into 100 centimes, fractional units are no longer used in daily trade due to inflation, leaving the dinar as the primary unit of exchange.
