Quart (qt)
The US liquid quart (symbol: qt) is a unit of volume equal to two US liquid pints or one-fourth of a US liquid gallon. In the United States customary system, it equals approximately 946.353 milliliters or 0.000946353 cubic meters. Derived from the historic English wine gallon, the liquid quart is distinct from both the US dry quart and the Imperial quart, remaining a primary retail unit for liquid food products and motor oil in North America.
