Minim

Volume

1.63×10⁻⁵ gal

A minim (symbol: min) is a minute unit of volume historically used in pharmacy and apothecary systems to measure liquid medications. In the United States customary system, one minim is defined as 1/60 of a fluid dram or 1/480 of a fluid ounce, equaling approximately 0.06161 milliliters (6.161 × 10⁻⁸ m³). Introduced in London in 1809 to replace imprecise drops, the minim was standardized with calibrated glass droppers before metric units superseded it.
