Cubic decimeter (dm³)

Volume

0.26 gal

A cubic decimeter (symbol: dm³) is an SI derived unit of volume corresponding to a cube with side lengths of one decimeter (10 centimeters). One cubic decimeter is defined as exactly equal to one liter, or 0.001 cubic meters. When the metric system was revised in 1964 by the 12th General Conference on Weights and Measures, the liter was redefined to be identical to the cubic decimeter, re-establishing a direct geometric link to the SI base unit of length.
