Decaliter

A decaliter (symbol: dal or dKL) is an SI-accepted metric unit of volume equal to 10 liters or 0.01 cubic meters. Although less ubiquitous in everyday speech than the liter or hectoliter, decaliters are historically used in agricultural trade, beverage production, and commercial fluid transport across Europe. The prefix deca- reflects the factor of ten, established during the late eighteenth century when the French revolutionary government first devised the metric system.
