League
The league is an ancient unit of length historically defined as the distance a person could walk in one hour, typically amounting to three nautical or statute miles (roughly 4.8 to 5.6 kilometres). Widely used throughout Europe and Latin America from ancient Roman times through the early modern era, it lacked uniform standardization across regions. Though no longer used in official capacity, it remains prominent in historical texts and folklore.
