Celsius (°C)

Temperature

33.8 °F

The degree Celsius (symbol: °C) is a scale of temperature defined relative to the kelvin, where 0 °C corresponds to exactly 273.15 K and a one-degree interval equals one kelvin. Proposed in 1742 by Swedish astronomer Anders Celsius as an inverted scale, it was reversed shortly after his death to place zero at the freezing point of water. It remains the most widely used scale for everyday weather and general measurement outside the United States.
